Teaching Artist
Maura is a New York based performer, playwright, and puppeteer, with a passion for children’s media and children’s theatre! She is a recent graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, where she learned all about how to clown around and make plays out of play! At SLC, Maura worked with the Department of Theatre & Civic Engagement as an afterschool and weekend teaching artist, inspiring children’s imagination through theatre-making. With the Department of Theatre & Civic Engagement and La MaMa Umbria International, Maura has developed an original puppet-based interdisciplinary workshop called “Starstuffs,” which teaches children about astronomy through play, storytelling, and puppet-making. They are overjoyed to be a member of the Treasure Trunk team!
